The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association announced Thursday that due to changes Northwest made to the agreement there won't be a vote to end the strike. The strike will continue.

The insertion was intended to prevent retribution, retaliation, or harassment, but it would have taken away the union's legal right to address internal disputes.

Northwest has said that if the union members don't vote on the proposal it will resume hiring replacements on Oct. 21, 2005.
